Visit Spille and Divjaka
Pine forests by the sea and quiet beaches — an ideal stop on the way south.
Spille and Divjaka are only an hour from Golem and are known for their vast pine forests that stretch right down to the water's edge, creating a special microclimate and cool shade on hot summer days.
One of the main reasons to visit the area is Divjaka-Karavasta National Park, home to one of the last colonies of Dalmatian pelicans in Europe. Boat excursions on the Karavasta Lagoon give you the chance to see these rare birds up close and appreciate the richness of the local biodiversity.
The beaches of Spille and Divjaka are quieter and less touristy than those in Golem, surrounded by pine trees that reach almost to the sand — perfect for a picnic day in the shade. The area is also known for fresh fish and family-run restaurants by the sea.
